17d Poem's conclusion that will enthrall me in another way (8) EN?Y?I?N The answer I have - it's a poem by Keats, but the full wordplay has eluded me all day. As it's a quiet night on here, I thought I would see if the experts can help.
I puzzled over the wordplay for this one, too. The best I could come up with (not very satisfactory!!) was:
conclusion = end
enthrall = hold in bondage = include
mi = alternative spelling of me
yon = that way = not this way, so another way.
That's more or less what I came to, but it doesn't give you the closure that you get with most clues. I asked on my blog if anyone had any better ideas, but no response as yet.
Yes - it's not a satisfying solution. By the way, did you see pegcart's answer to the "apple tart" query on the DT Cryptic. I can't believe that I, and several others, missed that!
Yes, I did, and I had to rush to change what I had posted on crosswordendsinviolence.wordpress.com - not my blog, but one hosted by author James Cary to promote his book.
