You are correct. Lump sum is the answer. Apparently mint sauce is a slang expression for "money". (Yesterday's postings.) I must admit that was a new one to me.
I've collected today's DT from the local Co-op. Snow is quite deep and my council has run out of salt.
It seems to me quite a lot of the clues in the DT crosswords are unsatisfactory at the moment; I find I often get the answers first and then have to work out how the answer relates to the clue. Is it just me or is this a common observation?
Yesterday's puzzle (and last Wednesday's) have been the most unpopular for a while.
