Feline advice needed......

Frankie is a cat who dedicates his days to eating, goading his sister and sleeping.
For the past few days he has been refusing his sachets of food - giving it a cursory sniff and then walking off. I suspect he is munching away at the Iams so he is not going to starve. He is still continually begging for food and waking me up at silly o'clock in the morning.
My question is - how do I throttle him without leaving any bruises? Both Frankie and I watch CSI.
On a slightly more serious note -
** Why are cats so awkward regarding food?
** Does he need therapy?
Frankie is normally obsessed with food and is thin, his sister only eats half of her meals and doesn't beg at all and is quite 'curvaceous' - this isn't fair on my Princess.

At first I thought that he was ill - his sister beats him up now and then and because I don't see the wounds they have, in the past, become infected and this has put him off his food.
But he is still scrounging and ate Tesco deli Roast Beef yesterday.
Bah - they are monsters! Imagine taking orders from such a small animal.
Dogs are easy to feed - they eat anything.

Oh dear. I fear Frankie cat is doing what cats do. Being fussy and manipulative. ASBO is exactly the same, will beg for food, I put him a sachet down and then he looks at me as if to say "I am not eating THAT". I have found that by far the best thing to do is ignore him. He always eats it when he realises he ain't getting anything else!
And a pillow or cushion chucked at him at 4am soon stops the food begging thing (often accompanied with the words F*** off, ASBO).

Hi wolf63, cats are all the same.I have two dogs and have no problems with their food [gone in sixty seconds lol] But my three oldies are a different matter, one week a certain food is in another week they will turn their backs on it , with one exception and thats M & S chicken which I give them once a week and that is more than likely why they are as they are, so it's all down to their slaves spoiling them.g.
Hiya, wolf - my lot go off their food occasionally, too. Dunno what causes it, but sometimes one of them won't eat for a day or two and then she guzzles everything I put out for them. Cassie's off her food at the moment, in fact she's off everything - spends most of the day asleep and always has a lie-in and is the last to come downstairs in the morning. In fact, I haven't seen her tonight at all. She was asleep in her basket when I got in from work & I think she's still there!! She'll be disappointed though, if she comes down later for food, as I've removed it all (even the biscuits) because Mischa's being spayed tomorrow (if I can get down the hill in the morning, what with all the snow & ice!) and isn't allowed any food after 7pm tonight. Hope wee Frankie gets his appetite back soon (try him on some boiled coley, it always works for Cassie!!). Love, K & the girls!!
