automatic wind screen whipers

i often wonder this whilst driving along...

i have automatic windscreen whipers, but they become 'active' when i turn them onto the first setting (noramlly intermitant whipes) but i can also prgramme the delay in between whipes on this setting by swizzling a dial from 1 to 9....i do this and it makes no differnece as this is the automatic whiper setting so they do what they want anyway...whats the point of this??

you can probably turn the automatic wipe off in the cars on board computer somewhere and then the intermittent delay settings would take over.

nope becasue on 9, if somethings on the windscreen they still go mental!!

If anyone comes along and automatically whips my windscreen, they would get a smack around the head!

it os down to the speed between wipes...on my golf it is anyway

yes mine are too, jsut cant work out why they are also automatic if you can choose the delay between WIPES..god people on here are so predantic about spelling... who reallly cares??? im not writting a bloody disatation, just asking a question!!

These do not appear to be automatic windscreen wipers -as those come on automatically without any manual intervention.
You appear to have intermittent wipers

i think i know what car i bought!!!

the only thing i have to do is flick the wiper blade up one, and the automatic ones come on...if it rains heavy then they get faster without me doing anything, if it stops raining they do too......... these are automatic!!
