mouse pointer difficult to navigate. takes several attempts to rest it on icon as moves around screen very slow. typing is hard only can press one key at time and have to press them very hard. imposs to use computer. any idea. thanks

Pointer drifting can be several things; desk lamp interference, mousepad too shiney or dented, try unticking 'Enhance pointer precision' in the mouse section of the Control Panel.

Is something like your anti virus updating itself or scanning your drives? Try updating or reinstalling your drivers for mouse and keyboard. Does you mouse plug into your keyboard, USB hub or straight into the PC?

Go to Control Panel, klik mouse and slow down mouse to about half on rikterscale.

Could also be dirty ball inside mouse apparatus?

pressing a key on your keyboard very hard serves absolutely no purpose as the microswitch underneath the botton is either on or off, there is no in between I'm afraid. The temptation to press it very hard might be there due to frustration but it won't do you any good at all..sorry

if its a cordless one, maybe the battery is going on either or both the mouse and keyboard, i know thats happened to me and also if the reciver is out of sight it has happened
