As she is approaching menopause a womans vagina thins and becomes less lubricated, this can cause some friction and bleeding following sex.
Also, she may be experiencing cervical erosion, which is changes in the cervix that can bleed following sex
She should make an appointment to see her gp so they can take a look.

I suffer from cervical erosion, many women get it, mine was causing pain so i has cautery to burn off a polyp which did help and helped to heal the cervix, but its nothing to worry about.
Its something that women with endometriosis can suffer with so would definately get to the gp for an appointment. x
