These 2 fractions don't have the same denominators (lower numbers) so we have toi find a common denominator of teh 2 fractions first. For the denominators here, the 9 and 5, a common denominator for both is 45, so 6/9ths becomes 30 over 45, and the 1/5th becomes 9 over 45.
The prob here is, the 2 fractions have the same denominators (numbers under the fraction lines), so you just subtract them by taking away the numerators (top numbers) - 30-9 + 21, but keep the same denominator (45), so you get 21 over 45, which can be reduced further. The greatest common divisor here is 3. So 21 over 45 becomes 7 15ths!

No, no, no, no. How can you subtract 1/5 from 6 1/9 and end up with an answer that is less than 1? It has to 5 and something.
