I have lots of mildew on an outside wall in my bathroom. I've tried those mould & mildew sprays and scouring powder, which remove some of the surface mildew, but it is still visible and the horrible black stuff soon grows back. What can I do next?

It is very difficult to get rid of. Most of the time it is caused by lack of ventilation and condensation makes it worse ... so try opening a window as often as you can, check if there is an airbrick and see if it is blocked, plus you can buy anti mildew paint so it may be worth giving it a try. My Mother had a similar problem in one of her bedrooms and the only way she resolved it was to have an extra airbrick installed.
