How do I keep deer from eating my plants without the need to turn my garden into a high security installation.

All suggestions that do not involve venison recipes welcome.

People I know who have this problem have had to erect high fences to keep them out. I don't know of any low-security way to do it, other than staying out in your garden 24 hours a day.

Thanks for that.
Anyone else?

The first year we bought our log cabin in the woods, I fed 3 acres of sweet corn and most of our garden to the deer. They sure were pretty that year!  However, there is a way to prevent them munching your grub. HUMAN HAIR. Go to a barber/stylist and get some hair trimmings and strew that stuff around the outside of your garden. All it takes!  Good luck & I applaud your efforts not to destroy them.
