Hi,

I am trying to work out how you add the fee on to Paypal automatically i.e. when I request money from a customer I want them to pay the fee.

Cant work out how I do this - anyone got any ideas?

You have posted this elsewhere. Never mind.

How have you sold your goods?

If it is through eBay you absolutely can NOT charge the buyer for your PayPal fees.
As Ethel says, you can't charge your PayPal fees to the customer, it's totally against ebay rules.
We don't know it is eBay.
Oh yeah, thanks Ethel, I stand corrected...durrr! I think it's because you mentioned eBay and my brain is too tired to organise the info. Not to mention that, as a frequent eBay buyer, I was a little incensed by the very suggestion, lol!

It is simply using Paypal to allow holidaymakers to pay for their rent - they can send a cheque but some want to use cards so they opt to pay the fee.....but I need to add it to my fee which clearly doesnt work well or look good...

Ahh, I understand why you would want the customer to pay the fee now. Can't think of a way for you to include it in the transaction though. If it's the customer's suggestion to pay via PayPal then I would want them to pay the fee too. However, if it's a service that you offer to them then I think you'll either have to swallow the fee yourself or find another method of transfer.

Perhaps Ethel might have a better answer.
Sorry kgt, just read your last post again. Ignore mine! I'm obviously too tired so I'll just shut up and leave it to those who's brains are working efficiently!
There are boxes on the invoice where you can add or deduct an amount.
Work out how much you will be charged for using PayPal and put that amount in the + box. It should recalculate the total.

It's 3.4% plus 20p on amounts of 1500 and under
and 2.9% for amounts over 1500 and under 6000.

Just add 3.5% to the total.
