I appear unfortunately to have deleted a file required to run Google as this is my search engine I am finding life rather difficult, as a fairly newcomer to the world of computing can anyone out there tell me how I can re-install Google or repair my own. At the moment I am working with Google Chrome, should I cut my losses and stay with this or return to the older version of Google? If anyone one can give an answer could they give it in as simple language as possible due, as I have explained, I am rather new to all this, which explains my error. Incidentally I have emptied my waste bin.

Entering a word into the search field will do the search.
I cannot think of a file you can delete to stop this working.
However, I do know that Google supply some programs (like their browser toolbar) so maybe you have deleted a file to stop that working.
Can you explain in simple terms WHERE you used to enter your search details and why it is no longer working (do you get error message or is the search field missing etc).
