My ex

My ex from 7 years ago emailed me today at work. I hadn't seen or heard from him for many years. We parted on bad terms and I was quite glad we split up as we just made each other miserable.

Anyway, he told me that he has a little family now and although I'm happy for him I still had that slight gut wrenching feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Does anyone else keep in touch with their exes and how do you feel about them?

Only one and he's pretty much one of my closest friends. However that's a very rare thing for me to do and I think the only reason that I could with this fella is because we hadn't been dating that long and did not break up on bad terms at all. Otherwise I just walk away and don't even bother with taking photos. I'm not what you'd call sentimental about these things.

i have a simaler problem. my ex of a month and a half, cheated on me. a few of my friends found out before me because his msn name was *heart heart*i love terry 21st september*heart heart*
(they were little pictures not like that ^^^)
i havent spoken to him since and i REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get over him as i think about him everyday (not sexually hubba hubba!) but i dont know how. i think iv forgiven him now but im not over him.

I'm friends with an ex that I didn't date for long so I knid of feel the same way.

My other ex on the other lived with me for while and it just felt really weird when he told me about his baby.

Maybe I'm just being melodramatic! Lol

Funnily enough Stompe I don't think I ever did love him in the first place. I started seeing him on the rebound from someone else and then he moved in with me before I could think things through. I think he loved me though as he often said he did.

If you have been out with somebody like that, you know love and hate, (it sort of comes in the same package) then you will always have a bit of feeling even after 7 years.

But as you know you split up for a very good reason....

I think with my exes I generally have to take the stance of 'I wouldn't wish you ill but I don't wish you well' (thank you kelly Clarkson) if that makes any sense. But then the two significant ones in my life didn't end on the best of terms so I think that's understandable.

I think its just the thought that you've been intimate with that person and even if you don't love them anymore or have feelings for them it still makes you feel odd when you hear about them.

I moved on a long time ago Stompe. It was juts that he emailed me out of the blue today.

I am with someone else and have been for a while but its just the memory of it all. I'll be fine tomorrow.

the reason he emailed was because I sent an email to a load of people (not including him) to let them know that a long serving colleague was retiring and that I was doing a thisi is your life type folder for them. Someone then forwarded the email to him so he emailed me back. Me being me, I replied to him and then we got chatting.

Hi Pet,

I could stop the contact but that would make me feel as though I was being rude. Oh I don't know. Hopefully I'll never hear from him again although he did mention meeting up for lunch one day!!! Lol
