These days the police, cps and courts are getting strict with'domestic violance'.Even if your girlfriend has dropped the charges,the CPS can still prosecute if they feel that they still have a case.If there were any witnesses to whatever happened this will not got in your favour.My fiance is on a ABH charge for assaulting me.Even tho I am not pressing charges they have 2 independant witnesses.You do not say exactly what happened,or if it is your 1st offence or not.However,as much as I wish you the best of luck,I would strongly advise you to look at your actions which got you into this mess in the first place.

Yes, a person is prosecuted because they break the law, not because the victims decides that is what they want.

If the CPS has evidence such as photographs of her injuries, medical evidence and witnesses the case will go ahead.

The CPS may still see fit to bring a prosecution. However, their case will be significantly weakened without their "star witness", i.e. your girlfriend, or your ex or whatever she now is. You don't say whether you and she are reconciled or not?
If you are still together, it may prove difficult for a prosecution to succeed.
Nevertheless, you should seriously consider what you have allegedly done and ask yourself if you're proud of your actions?

paraffin - there has been prosecutions for abh and gbh where there has never been a complainant as all parties involved were consenting adults.

If they have proof they don't need the injured party's consent to prosecute.

i told them i pushed her iam not gonna lie about it. allso its the 1st time ive been in trouble with the police for 7 years and the 1st and last time ive pushed my g/f, i class it as bullying and i truned in to something i hate belive me that will not happen again

but they will want to punish you for the time you did do it aaron. You are answerable for your actions - face the consequences and then say you will not do it again and mean it.
