My doctor has told me I am officially menopausal today and is causing such bad symptoms, he has given me tablets, creams and all sorts. What a super time awaits me in the future. Painful nookie to boot and all on Valentines day.
I need a hug...please?

no more pms, every day is christmas day
no more spending money on 'womens products' every month, throw away those 'period pants'
no more risk of unwanted pregnancy
no more taking the pill or other more messy precautions
you can say and do exactly what you want because you are officially a menopausal woman and it's expected of you
overnight you have turned into a very wise woman (according to some) whose opinions will be respected
you will become invisible to certain sections of society enabling you to do what the he*l you want
this is a good time, embrace it and enjoy it!
ps. painful nooky gives way to experimentation with various lubricating gels and 'things' adding a whole new dimension :)

I am 31 and had to have a hysterectomy due to a genetic mutant which means I will most likely have gotten cancer unless I had this op. I can't have HRT so am going it alone. You have to think positive - write down all the good things which menopause will bring you - no more sanitary towels or tampax, no more period pains, think of something you always wanted to do and go for it girl! You MUST think positive. My suggestion is write things down - when you are feeling down, read them and all will become clear. I can't have children and that kills me, but there is so much more which this life can offer you.......... live it! Lots of love xxxx
Hi bessieboo. I had the partial op last year - at the age of 29. I decided against HRT, and feel fine - which shows you and eyeshade that not everyone suffers when they go through the menopause. My mum hardly noticed it either. All she had were a few gentle flushes, which she said felt quite pleasant! For those who DO get unpleasant symptoms, there are quite a few remedies, but some folk sail through it. x
