Does anyone else feel the same as me about Vista?,it's not a patch on Windows XP especially in the photo editing field.Less choice less content.I'm sorry circumstances forced me to change. On Picasa3 can the wording be changed so that I don't have to have my nose near the monitor to be able to read anything. It's small and very faint.A bloody disaster. Thanks but no thanks to Vista!!!!
I find it irritating. Was very happy with XP. But then, I was very happy with windows 98. Maybe I'm just predisposed against change. But I think the huge effort gone to to make the Vista OS look like a Mac is a complete waste of energy.
sorry to upset your theory codswallop but your photo editing capabilities have nothing whatever to do with your operating System.
Choice and content as you put it are all to do with the photo editing program you use. Chances are you had a program loaded on your XP machine that you haven't got installed on your Vista one. That's all it is I'm afraid, nothing to do with Vista!
Your screen resolution determines whether your nose touches the screen or not, not your operating system. i think you might need to get some basic settings sorted out before you slag Vista off so much, there's nowt wrong wi it if tha knows what tha's doin'
been using vista for many months now. takes a few days to get used to the different look and 'feel' of the OS. however now i prefer it over XP.
and for those of you who want to continue to use XP i have some bad news. once Windows 7 is released, MicroSoft will stop supporting it. if you havent seen Windows 7, it is very similar to Vista.
Ooooh! I have ruffled a few feathers.
Camioneur you have made my point exactly. It's the good editing progs(in my eyes) like Microsoft Picture it that you get on XP that is better than Vista's.Thank you all for raising many good points!!
vhg...the fact that you Office installed and Live installed has got exactly what to do with the question?
he didn't say there weren't editing capabilities in his answer, he said it had nothing to do with the OS which is correct. If the basic picture editing software built into Vista isn't enough then go out and buy something different.
My feeling is that codswallop isn't familiar with photo editing in Vista and so doesn't like the OS. That's like saying BBC is rubbish because you don't like the weather forecast!
Time and again I've seen this happen on here, someone asks a simple question and gets far too much info to make the answer meaningful to someone of limited computer knowledge, me thinks they like to show off a bit.
When a 2 year old asks why his lollipop makes his tongue cold it isn't necessary to explain the different freezing points of various liquids, just tell him it's because it's just come from the fridge..near enough till they're 3 at least!
I don't have to come onto AB to get insulted I can get that at home thank you.If we were all so-called experts as you like to think you are, there would be no need to be on AB.Only to show your superior knowledge of course. If wasn't for the likes of us you would have no-one to brag to!!!!!!!

(pretentious .... vous?)
thing is scan .... unlike yours ... most answers are intended to be read by more than one person.
If no one ever tried to get one step further we'd all still be sitting in a swamp listening to people like you saying idiotic things like ... it's cold out there ... must have been near the fridge.
I like to treat people as if they have brains ... not like two year olds .. give someone a dictionary or encyclopedia and they can either just read the bits they need ... or look a bit further into things
knowledge is power ... and methinks ... you'd rather keep people in the dark so you don't feel so lonely?
