loop the loop

Apologies if this is placed in the wrong catergory, but can anybody tell me when the first loop the loop in an aircraft was performed? It must have been hairraising, imagine doing summat nobody else had EVER done, phew!

On 9 September 1913, Lt. Petr Nikolaevich Nesterov had looped his Russian Army 70 h.p. Nieuport monoplane at Kiev in the Ukraine. At the time he was placed under arrest by his commanding officer for risking army property, but when it emerged that he was a hero he was promoted to Captain!

Originally it was credited to Adolphe P�goud who did it on the 21st September 1913.
