Yet more jobs gone.

Isn't it now time for Brown to do a Hitler, and pour cash into these car firms, so that with the money they can produce a very cheap, eco friendly small car.

This would make jobs safe, encourage people to spend their cash on a cheap car, and at the same time protect the enviroment.

Or is this too silly to even consider?

I like the Guardian's heading photograph titled:

A man walks past a Mini sign at the BMW car plant in Cowley, Oxford on the day 850 job losses were announced. Photograph: Lewis Whyld/PA

What a scoop, I wonder for how long Mr Whyld had to hang around in the cold to capture this moment in time?

Moreing money into specific companies is rather dangerous.

If you had shares in Ford what would you say if there were large scale government funding directly into a competitor.

Funding nationwide infrastructure projects is one thing funding a particular company is another
The government has pumped over 2bn into the car industry with no visible effect. That is why this question was asked:

Hitler? A Volkswagen, the 'people's car' ,eh? Love it! Always wanted a 'beetle' ! And how would this scheme be implemented? A law requiring every manufacturer to produce one standard pattern car, in Britain (remembering that we are a) in the EU and b) none of our big makers are British ) at a fixed price? Is that either practicable or enforceable? Why don't we introduce petrol, food and clothing rationing while we are at it, and have 'utility' clothing and furniture made here as well?
Thats why Woolies were allowed to hit the wall yep cr4p a55 2 bit banks get money pumped into them with little regard to the taxpayer. TBH where else can you get pick n mix sweeties?

Only if we can skip straight to the end of April 1945. Forget all the other National Socialist Workers Party stuff.
If a business is failing then why on earth support it?

Have you seen the stockpile of new cars?

You can buy cars very cheap already, my other half has today been looking at a brand new fiesta for 5K.

These car companies are flooding an already full market so getting them to make more is just madness
