'elf fur' gives remainder of answer in anagram form except for the "F" where a "K" is needed.

Not really at all convinced, but as no other answers have been given, it's maybe worth suggesting, and perhaps somebody can fine tune it?? ;O)

I think that Sarumite is correct with Liver Fluke and the clue should have read ELK FUR not elf!
