Are there any good private schools, preferably in the London area, which have slightly shorter holidays i.e. 13 weeks in line with the state system rather than the typical 18 weeks?
not sure, but i think that all private schools generally have the longer holidays. I would guess that if you had shorter hoolidays the fees would rise, to the extent it might be cheaper to get a nanny for those weeks. Alternatively some boarding schools keep pupils in over the holidays, although again it might be cheaper to get a nanny
There are many private schools who will have your offspring 24/7 all year round, it's just a question of money. Or ditto, 'summer schools', of hugely varying quality.
My Fiance boarded too and hated every minute of it. The bizarre thing is, his home was only around the corner from the school. Some parents are so cruel.
Thanks for the comments, but my question does not relate to boarding schools. I am simply looking for good private day schools with slightly shorter holidays. The typical 18 weeks per year is difficult to manage when both parents work.
Well I suppose you could contact the Education Authority for the borough you select and get them to send you a list of Private schools. You might just have to do your homework and research various schools.
Why not try the summer activity programmes put out by various initiatives such as science programees, drama programmes, arts etc who have extended workshops for children in the summer hols?
