Housing benefit

Do you have to tell your new landlord you are on hosuing benefit? Will they find out anyway?

I'm not sure of the answer but unless you have about 3 months rent and the deposit up front then they may figure it out when the HB doesn't come through in time or when they ask for refrences or something!!
