pot roast
I really want to try and make a pot-roast. However, as it is only me, I wondered if anyone had a really good recipe for a beef pot-roast with red wine and if so what kind of wine should I use??

I do a couple of really simple ones, but they turn out nice and tasty. For beef, I brown the joint then pour over a beef gravy mix (made to 1 pint) and a good slug of red wine and a couple of cloves of garlic. For lamb I just add a lamb gravy mix with some garlic and a bit of rosemary! I roast both in a medium oven for approx 2 and half hours.
