Whatever happened to Robot Wars?

I am watching Series 6 at the moment on one of the Sky channels and it got me thinking about if it was still going.  I looked on line and I see it was stopped after Series 7.  Why? Is it me or was a good programme?  Whatever happened to the likes of Razor, Firestorm and Chaos 2 and has someone got the House Robots gathering dust in their attic?  DId Craig Charles get bored!!!!!! as if!?

It popped up recently on Sci-Fi channel but I think it was repeats. Yeah I love it too.

I think it died a slow horrible death after it moved to channel 5.

Maybe it should take up residence on challenge tv, with another great (Charles fronted show) Takeshis Castle!?

I always wanted to build one of them robots, how much do they cost?

I was amazed to see how big they were the one time, on tv they look small.

Can't believe they've stopped making it. Gutted.

Such a great programme and appeals to such a wide spectrum.

My brother in law met george frances (chaos 2 roboteer), yes that's my claim to fame.

I don't like Ref-bot though. His greatest wepaon is he can count to 10. Pathetic.

I liked to watch it. My favorite robots were Razer and Dead Metal. I think it went down when it went on channel 5, maybe the producers were getting bored of it or something.
