Is it the same as Feria in Spain ?
will you be joining in with the festivities on Tuesday?
I hope you have a jolly time.
xx
Can't stand the fiestas.......drinking, loutish behaviour, noise until early hours of the morning, but hey! leggy.have a good time eh!

Just back from my cortado, tostado con tomate and newspaper.

No such thing as that here sqd.
i was at the new year festivities when my mother was here
folk in the center of town with large pcinic tables set up with bottles of champagne and beer and food

the police were ther estanding in the corner to oversee but alll the people were just dancing to the music until 5am.
now in the uk thered have been a few stabbings and at least a dozen fights over whos burd youd been eyeing up.

Tonly the carnaval is a worldwide thing its going back to lent and to do with the catholic churh.

tenerifes carnaval is the second biggest in the wordl after rio , because of the amount of different carnavals in the different municipalities on the island.

danni no the carnaval in los cristianos is in march when knobby patafreak and rabbitygirl are here.

so we will be partying carnaval style

i hink a cowboys theme would be appropriate.

sqd tomatoes on toast?

tsk tsk certainly not what the spanish hre would have for dsayuno they prefer dulces with coffee.
cortado or a leche leche which is canarian and i dont think many drink it on the mainland.

well I hope you all have fun at the carnival in March. sounds great.

Do you find the Spanish fireworks deafening, leg? I dread the April Fallas, and so does His Royal Wagginess.

I have offered knobby, and dressed as a french maid..................but she said no.
She is loyal to her old cleaner it seems.
=-(
leggy....perhaps I was a bit over the top, but fiestas are not my scene.
Tostado CON tomate......popular Spanish breakfast, toast with tomato topping, sometimes with a hint of garlic.
whats the reason leggy?, we were in puerto de santiago in march a couple of years ago and there was a fiesta in los gigantes and they paraded a giant sardine through the streets before setting fire to it and setting off loads of fireworks( this is to ensure a good harvest in the comming year) is the one in santa cruz the same sort of thing. ?

Dave.

I think your wife might object a bit knobby.

Question Author
the sardine is to do with lent and also a fertility thing too
they burn the sardine on the beach and bury it

goes back to when they were doing this as a token to god in hope of a good fishing season
hence the sardine

exactly the same
the santa cruz one is the main one webbo
i havent been to it as ive always been working

theres also lots of traditions connected to it

theres also a night where all the men dress in wigs and black dressses and go out to celebrate the end of the carnaval

that looks quite good, idid'nt actually see the one in los gigantes because we were off home early the next morning but saw the fireworks going off from crab island and found out what was going on the next morning but if we go again at the same time id certainly walk down to watch it.

Dave.
the Spanish celebrate every Saints day and have
a fiesta , feria , fireworks ....every religious date ,
so the Brits are are bit boring ..but we do other
stuff ..
