So if Liverpool win the Champions League then it will be them plus the top 3 of the Premiership (first two spots automatic, 3rd spot will have to go through pre-qualifiers). If Liverpool lose then Everton (if finishing 4th) will take the 4th spot and will have to go through the pre-qualifying stage into the Champions League.
However, if Liverpool do win, Everton will still go into Europe but in the UEFA Cup, not the Champions League. Is that confusing or what?! :)
Unless the FA have publicised their decision to choose Everton (4th place) or Liverpool (5th place but CL winners) then all but the first line of the first answer here is inaccurate.
