volume on advent laptop

My granddaughter has an advent laptop. The volume of sound is perfect while playing music cds but very low when playing movies. Any advise on how I can adjust volume quality.

There will be an additional volume control in the DVD player she uses. If that's turned up to full already and the sound is still quiet, then go to the Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices. Click on Advanced underneath the Device Volume slider and then increase the Master Volume slider on the left.

She might need to do this every time she wants to watch a movie though
