leonard bernstein and the beatles
i have posted this on the tv section as well cos it covers both sections--
i remember some time in the late 60's/early to mid 70's a series of programs presented by leonard bernstein on music--lectures i suppose --the main memory i have is of his analysis of the beatles music--its structure etc--anyone else remember this--name of programs--trying to trace it and find if it is availabe to buy--dvd maybe--cheers

I remember one lecture he did (with orchestra) where he lectured on Beethovens 6th symphony (pastoral).
He said after the lecture you will stop listening to the "nature" theme and listen to the music.
I doubted it at the time, but when he played it at the end I found I was listenng to the music and not the nature theme.
I was very impresed at the time.
Dont remember him doing the Beatles though.

There is mention here about Bernstein using Beatles songs (and other music) in a lecture.

thank you both for your answers--i believe i am probably thinking of the unanswered question mentioned by octavius--it was certainly a series of lectures and not a single "film" as vhg mentions--it seems unans. q's was broadcast 1976--a bit later than i thought--how time and age dims the memory--thanks again and i will check them out further--cheers
