Downloading files using Google Chrome
Does anyone find downloading files using Google Chrome is super slow? I'm downloading a file that's 11MB and it's only downloaded half of it after 5 mins whereas Firefox would have downloaded the complete file in about a couple of minutes.

Perhaps you're not making a 'like for like' comparison because your downloads have been at different times?
If Chrome is genuinely slowing your file downloads, that just adds another reason, to these 50, for avoiding it:

Although it probably is nothing to do with the slow download I recon Chrome is set to be one of the biggest fizzers in Internet history.
Don't waste your time trying it. It is about half of one percent of traffic on the site I manage and this figure has been steady for months.
Google's first mistake was to use a lame browser like Safari as the foundation. Safari doesn't even render text properly with many sites appearing to be entirely in bold.

I have been a keen fan of Firefox for the past 4-5 years , but have found recent versions slow to load, greedy on memory and cumbersome in use. I then switched to Google Chrome and have nothing but praise for the new browser.
It is lean mean and fast, loads almost instantly and the uncluttered interface is a joy to use. I have downloaded numerous files and programmes with no problem.

Hey Webdude. The uncluttered interface? You mean the same as IE looks if you choose to disable all the stuff in the header?
I guess that second you save as the program loads is really important in a three hour browsing session. Though if you had gotten used to Firefox chugging away to get started anything would seem fast.
