you obviously want a quick fix but the risk factors of complications are quite high with any gastric surgery, my belief is that this sort of drastic route should only be used if it was the last chance saloon after exhausting all other methods and if your weight was seriously comprimising your ability to carry out life tasks such as taking a bath and getting around

At the size you are now it is perfectly possible to lose weight in the conventional way rather than a life threatening operation. See your GP they have nurses now who will work with you and many provide access to gyms etc. You also need to address your relationship with food and your depression, it can be done.

You are not that heavy! Be joyful that you are not 21 stone. Or 25 stone. Or 33 stone. Many are. You can lose 2 stone easily and then you will feel so much better.
Here is how I lost 4 stone:
1) Have 3 meals a day, no snacks.
2) Don't eat anything after your dinner, and don't eat dinner later than 7pm.
3) Have no sugar- it really mucks up your hunger signals. a bit of honey is okay and fruit is fine.
4) Most important one- get your hunger signals back. Learn to ignore the ones that are "boredom", "sadness", "happiness", "anger", "routine". Allow your body to get genuinely hungry. Have some tea or coffee instead of eating and see if you are still hungry afterwards- to test yourself. Don't eat just because it is lunchtime, wait until you are genuinely hungry. This may take hours and hours! After all your body doesn't need all that you are currently feeding it. Then STOP the MOMENT you feel content. Not full, just like you have eaten enough to take the edge off the hunger. Throw away any left overs quickly! Or freeze them so you can't go back for more. then busy yourself with something you love doing. Soon this will be a habit and you won't overeat anymore.

Gastric surgery is not the easy option everyone thinks it is! Try throwing up after anything and everything you eat..you cant go out for dinner, you cant have sociable meals with family and friends...its a nightmare. And no matter what anyone says, you have to exercise! There is no getting away from it. Yes the results are great but it takes a great deal of hard work to get there.
My advice? Do a little excercise every day, even if its just walking. Eat your meals on a side-plate so that you are not trying to fill a big plate. Keep a food diary, and be honest! You'll be amazed at what you can put away in a day. Keep yourself busy. If you are bored you will reach for food.
Good luck!

I was 23 stone, depressed and had a BMI of 48, and I am 5ft 8 inches. Over the past 18 months I have lost 4 stone with WW and going to the gym. I still have episodes of depression but when I have lost a few pounds and been to the gym I feel great about myself. Change your life by enrolling at an exercise class, get some info on healthy eating and stop dreaming about weight loss surgery. I did not qualify when I had a BMI of 48!
I know this sounds a bit 'naggy', but I do know how you feel and you can control this. Have you got a close friend or family member you can talk to about this?
