I have done something moronically stupid

Frankie has been off colour the last couple of weeks - nothing serious enough to take him to the vet over - but not so annoying as usual.
The last couple of days he hasn't been eating with as much enthusiasm as usual (think Labrador in a cat's body0.
So today I bought some dearer cat food to see if that would cheer him up. Unfortunatly it did. I am never going to be able to eat the 'normal' Felix, Whiskas and Tesco again.
What have I started?

Lizzy - you are right. Cats are so unpredictable when it comes to food. The dirty look that I get when I put something 'unacceptable' in their bowls says a thousand words - most of them nasty words.
Merlin doesn't eat so much as her brother - but she is all curves and looks twice his size.

But we are good mums/slaves and we have the idea at the back of our mind "maybe something is wrong".
I think that there has been a shift in dominance in the household. Merlin is strutting around as if she owns the whole world. She is usually the undercat (don't know why she has massive paws and a fiesty female temper) but maybe there has been fur flying - there was actually chunks of it at the top of the stairs.
It is the look of total disgust that we get when we supply the 'wrong' food. I am sure that all kittens do some sort of telepathic training course - manipulating humans.
I actually went out this morning for some Tesco's deli roast beef for Frankie. He loves it. They had a bit that was reduced to about half price. I gave a chunk or two to Frankie and he sniffed it and stormed off. Merlin was eating her treat so I ate the roast beef
Merlin has arrived for a cuddle - better go..

Flossie has taken a shine to Waitrose terrine foils which means a special shopping trip for me. She also loves pate but only the smooth sort, not the coarse one.
Like pasta's cat Flossie just bellows at me if I get it wrong and once she's wound up she goes on for ages. Fortunately Daisie is not so fussy or so noisy
