radio code

I've got an old Blaupunkt Paris RCR 42 car radio which I have the code for but can't figure out how to enter it.  Anyone got one of these>

this might be wrong but from what i remember with these code radios you have to hold something down as you switch it on, this could be the volume button, or the button that says code (if there is one) you get three attempts to put it in. I heard of people putting them in the freezer to wipe the code out, but never knew if it worked!!!!   let us know what happens!
