Kitten with evil fleas!

Our new 6 week old kitten has come to us fleas.  We've looked at all the flea powders/collars etc in the shops but they all seem to to be for kittens over 12 weeks old.

 

Is there anything we can do for her now or can't she be treated until she's a bit older?

The only flea treatment that really works is obtainable from the vet - Front Line.  You need to ask your vet what to do, as at 6 weeks the kitten is probably too young.  In fact, it is too young to really be away from it's mum, but, of course, I don't know the circumstances.

Please speak to a vet asap, the kitten has probably also got worms.  The vet will help you.  Don't neglect it because in a kitty so young, worms can be fatal.

Defo get some Frontline on that kitten ASAP, fleas can also be very dangerous to a kitten of that age..they can't afford to lose any blood.

When we got our 3yr old female she was only just over 7wks, she was thick with fleas. We took her to the vets for check up and the vet gave her Stronghold it also treats roundworm too. It started working that same day, we did feel sorry for her, because when we got her she didn.t know where to bite or scratch first. We had to treat our other cat and the house too. We use Frontline on the cats once a month. we find a product called Zodiac is excellent for spraying the house and cat bedding it not only kills the fleas but the eggs and larva.
