it's supposed to be full of antioxidants, which help to get rid of harmful free radicals, which can age your skin, among other things. it's also a diuretic i find, so don't overdo it. it's good stuff though, makes you feel very detoxed and clean. and saintly for bearing the taste.
Basically it's bursting with antioxidants. The chief antioxidant is believed to be a compound known as epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG appears to have ability to suppress many different elements of the cancer-forming process. Work published in a medical journal found that drinking more than 10 cups of green tea a day significantly delayed the development of cancer compared to drinking less than three cups a day. It's good stuff.
I can just about force one cup a day down. It's like medicine - I have to keep telling myself that old wives tale that the worse the medicine tastes (and green tea does taste pretty honky) the better it is for you.
I loved the olden days where I would drink endless amounts of beer and vodka and eat pizza and curries. Trying to be fit is such a curse!
I love green tea!!! On my best days I drink 5-6 cups of tea. Well, I know the taste is not for everyone. Just make sure, the water is around 60 C and don't brew it more than 3min. Then it would be bitter. I always drink it without sugar.
