Mrs. O. If you now your uncle's full name, and date of death, (or approximate date), and you know that he died in Plymouth, you can check for all the Funeral Directors in Plymouth, till you find the one that dealt with the cremation. Once you have found the right one, it is normal that that Funeral Director arranges the committal of the deceased person's ashes. If the family were not churchgoers, the ashes would be buried in a public non-denominational cemetary. In either case the Funeral Director would know whether it was a cemetary attached to a church, or a public cemetary. He also would know the number of the plot where the ashes are interred. Even in a public cemetary, the interment of ashes can not be done by members of the public, and only by a firm of Funeral Directors. Hope this information helps with your search. Good luck. Schutz.
