Which is the best to buy - Plasma or LCD?

It's only for movies/sports etc rather than gaming and plasma look to be cheaper but I've heard horror stories of things burning into the screens.

Hi missspeedy23 Your best bet is to buy an LCD tv as plasma TV tend to make extra noise with the fans trying to keep things cool. Also get a full HD tv which 1080i, I got one that is 730p half the res. you might not notice much difference, but when you see a full HD, It is better quality.

Oh just in case you sit one day and think,"did I really make the right choice?" LCD uses less power,the screen refresh rate is faster,and it never leaks gas in case of........

Yeah I read that Plasmas may be banned from manufacture soon
