30 Jan, postdog ...... Problem is they could send me 40m to Oxford and am sure to get flashed again on strange roads. Think they're being ageist and want my licence!
thanx for help.....will count the responses better than flipping a coin! Evens I take the points; you decide?
Take the course, I enjoyed it, especially as I knew more than the ex driving instructor that ran it, embarrassed him quite a bit and it only cost 60 in North Wales, same as the fine.
My Dad went on one in Northampton because got caught doing 40 in a 30 zone. He said it was a real surprise and he learned a lot. A few hours in a classroom is better than more points. As for the unfamiliar roads, just make sure you stick to the limits.
As the design of speed limit signs are the same regardless of the road and you're sure you'll be flashed on a strange road then maybe it's time you had your driving ability re-assessed as well.
I'd go with the course, if you can avoid points do, and drive there slowly! You'll have some sanctimonious J Arthur telling you that you are more evil than Pol Pot for hours on end and showing you gory pictures but just grin and bear it mate.
I've got a mate who had a clean licence and got caught similar to you. He decided he had room for points so refused the course now he's got 9 and has to drive around like mother Theresa all the time!
