I turned on the TV this morning and saw the incident of a female protestor throwing a greenish liquid into the face of Lord Mandelson.
"This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle"
"Land of Hope and Glory"
I was never a Mandelson fan, but now I have warmed to him.
Amazingly she was not appreheded by any bystander, scared perhaps that they would be accused of assault.
Some proud parents would be proud of their well brought up daughter thinking how well their money had been spent on private education.

Today, I was ashamed to be English. today the arrogance of the English was seen at it's very worst.

craft.....you have a builder knocking at your door.....and he is not knocking with his fist !!!!!!!!
I'm not English but I am British. This idiot of a protester has enhanced Mandelson's position. I don't like him or his politics, but this act was atrocious. It just sums up the intelligence of the protester. If this is his strongest argument he shouldn't bother getting out of bed.
I saw the news report and that woman should be prosecuted. What she did was assault and that kind of behaviour is just unacceptable.
thanks sqad - ooh do come in Darren....

DISCUSTARD OF TONBRIDGE WELLS!!!
When allpoliticalparties are nearly the same, and have the same "ignore ordinary people) policies, and don't listen when they get criticism;this can be seen as one of the only means of protest left to people.
In my tounger days at least there was something to differentitiate between political parties, there certainly isn't now.
Why people detest mandelson so much is he (like many politicians and bankers etc) can make mistake after mistake, and still get back into lucrative jobs.
Try telling that to people who lose their jobs in this recession, one which Ed Balls admits they saw coming but did nothing about.
As long as voters in this country feel disenfranchised such protests will go on,whether you like them or not.this is for some their only "voice".
As I said before I would happily throw something at most politicians(of whatever party) it seems to be the only way to get them to take notice!
I have to live on state benefits. These MP's with their expenses etc (which they are STILL trying ti hide) and that obnoxious banker ,who will get more a week than I get a year on my pension.
There are two classes of society now,the haves and the have nots;and at last the have nots are fighting back;and if that includes pie throwing at thes lowlifes so be it.

Mr Veritas....unfortunately this sort of inane protest has so often the opposite affect .......it hardens the resolve rather than weakens it.

In my mind, throwing green custard at an "opponent" indicates to all that you have lost the arguement.
????????????????????? what a load of tosh!!!!!!!!!!!!! all of it!!!!!!!!!
