Well, according to me old mucker phil (who is more intelligent than I could ever hope to be) there are strictly speaking only 46 states in the US. This is because Massachusettes, Virginia, Pensylvania and Kentucky have all declared themselves Commonwealths and not states!
Now I wonder if Knobby would know that!
