can anybody tell me what the name of the thing that was going around in circles with two chaps sitting at each end looking through what look like cameras.

It was in the the background when you saw Number 2.

Cool wasn't it? Just one more example of the futuristic paranoia that they built into the who series.

I adored the whole Kafka-esque approach, even though I was thirteen when it first showed, and had no idea who Kafka was, I loved it from day one, and still do.

considering it was made 40 years ago, it's stood the test of time - only one thing really dates it, and that's "the general".
