im making a chocolate meringue roulade which i have never done before. do you think it would be ok if i made it the day before or best made on the morning of the day itself?

I would make it on the day. The filling tends to make it too soggy if made too far in advance. Don't worry if it cracks when you roll it . It looks better! just lash on the cream and dust with icing sugar. Good luck.
I would make it the day before, leave it in the fridge overnight then add the filling a couple of hours before you are going to serve it
Yes. That's a good idea. Would you leave it unrolled in the fridge and roll it on the day then ?

Meringue roulade freezes very well too, when it's made open freeze it then it can be carefully wrapped, defrost for at least 4 hours.
