Hope that helps ummmm.....they basically say yes you can get one but it may take them time to do all the checks they need to do. He might be best phoning his local passport office.

Cheers abbie. We managed to sort it. He forgot that his Aunty worked at Knock airport. She checked and was told that as long as his passport hadn't expired for over 2 years he can use it as photo ID.
