Thats not going to happen. Nor will my criticism stop.
I criticise people who asks lots of questions but dont answer any (or only answer a few) in return. And some of them dont even have the good manners to say thanks for any answers provided. I also criticise those that ask questions which would be solved faster via Google. They are just plain lazy.
As someone who has answered far more questions than Ive asked, I feel that such criticism is justified. To those that dont like seeing such criticism I ask what is specifically wrong with it? And dont come out with the excuse Ive heard before that AB is a question and answer site because AB only works if people ask and answer questions. The people who only ever ask questions are effectively parasites and if some criticism makes other people stop and think before answering their questions then all the better.
Diane1954 I agree totally with your point about crossword clues. There is a separate subsection for crosswords but far too many people dont bother to use it. At weekends especially, the main Q&P section gets snowed under with people asking crossword clues, many of whom are too lazy to even check if someone else has already asked that clue. I dont know what can be done about it except to suggest that there should be completely separate sections (not subsections) for crosswords and non-crosswords.
