"gingerly"

A truly horrible, awkward word; and one that I loathe.

It is both an Adverb ...

(She stepped gingerly onto the slippery pebbles)

And an Adjective ...

(She stepped onto the slippery pebbles in a gingerly manner)

... and it does not work as either.

It is a truly ghastly word, which should simply be removed from the language.

Thank you. I just wanted to get that off my chest.
