Alteration to flights by airline

If an airline, in this case Air France, changes the itinery by moving the flight from the UK to leave from a different airporrt in the UK and to land in a totally different airport near Paris, and have to traipse across Paris to get a connection to a destination outside Europe, what penalties if any (apart from a refund) can be invoked? . The passengers involved are O.A.P. with limited mobility.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. B.

you will have to consult your travel documents. For example, i was just reading in the t&c of mine that refund/comp can only be given for major change, and that change of airport does not constitute a major change

I would at least try for the cost of the extra involved in getting to the other UK airport, and a taxi across Paris.

Unless it's a "no-frills", no customer service company, in which case I doubt you'll get anything.
