can anyone remember what the competition was called i think it was bbc radio (maybe  other side?)  this was the beginings of 6 short storys by famous authers alexi sayle was one ( yes i know hes a c celeb but i cant think of the other 5 ) and after a great opening it said something like now follow on "  or "what happened next"  but i cant remember for the life in me . why i am pondering is that i would love to know who won and what and how they carried on after the excellent openings

but i googles alexie sayle as a new search option and cme up with this

The BBC are launching End Of Story - the biggest writing competition in the UK. Eight best-selling authors - Ian Rankin, Ed McBain, Marian Keyes, Alexei Sayle, Fay Weldon, Sue Townsend, Shaun Hutson and Joanne Harris will start a story and you can finish it.

Your question reminded me about it as I fancied going in for it at the time, but the bit of paper disappeared under many other pieces of paper, as often happens here. Thanks for the web address.  I must find out about the end.  I didn't have my own PC then and input to websites was very disjointed .  Perhaps it's nearly time for another comp.?
