Ethernet Hard Wired Network At Home

 H, I bought a Netgear cabled router and was thinking of hard wiring it into the house. Where can i purchase similar wall sockets like phone ones but for ethernet, and how much are they? And how about getting ethernet cabling then intalling the connectors myself once they have been set down. We need 4 ethernet points in the house. Has anyone done this before?? I know it would be easier to get a wireless router but now that i have bought a wired one i dont want to have to mess about again and changing it. My house is a typical ex-council house with three bedrooms. Also does any one know of any free programs for child net safety? My oldest son is 8 and i want to give him an ethernet point for his pc but it will be restricted on the amount of time spent on the net. But i need a way to restrict what he sees, without me being there 24/7. Any ideas?

Maplin have all the equipment that you will need.

100m of cat5E cable is �24.99, plus you will need rj45 wall ports, connectors, strain relief boots (if you think that you need them).
