fatsia japonica

can anyone help me, i have a fatsia japonica i have it a sunny position but have just read it needs to be in a shady position,should i move it or just leave it were it is.

Ask yourself this "Would I like to be in an unhappy position?"

Has it thrived since it has been there? Maybe it is getting enough shade when you don't notice, like mornings and evenings?
Does the plant look healthy to you?

My experience of these plants is they will grow virtually anywhere. Mine spends most of the time in the shade and is massive!!!
I'm tempted to put it in direct sunlight just to slow it down
