clicky neck - twinges in arm!!

i have hypermobility and my neck clicks a lot, sometimes on its own and sometimes i actually have to make it click to 'release' it - i cant move my head if i don't... however sometimes when i do it, i feel a tiny sort of 'electric shock' in my arm...mostly in my wrist ..now, im sure this probably isn't a very good sign...anyone know if its 'just one of those things' or possible dangerous...?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I am hypermobile as well as having arthritis in the neck (and everywhere else) and constantly have electric shocks, pins and needles, etc. in my arms and dead hands This has been the case since my teens and I am now retired.
However, if you are worried see your GP. I personally doubt if it is dangerous.
I wish I had known about hypermobility when I was younger - I would have taken more care and wouldn't have shown off about being 'double jointed'. I haven't helped my arthritis!! My son is also hypermobile as has similar problems.

I'm hypermobile too and get the shocks and such.
Get it checked out if you're not sure though.
If wish I'd known about hypermobility too. I now realise that being really flexible did not come from being a dancer and gymnast but I was good at that kind of thing because of it and just because I can move that much doesn't mean it's a good idea.
It's strange now I look around and ask people, I never realised I was so much more flexible in many ways!
Arthritis seems to be responding to meds though and they've recently found a vitamin D deficiency so hoping the treatment for that that will help with some of the pain :)
How have your ribs been Lottie? Fingers crossed, mine have been behaving lately!

I was a good dancer too Jenna and very proud to be able to do quite a few yoga positions when I was young and show off how I could turn my elbows the wrong way round and bend my thumbs over backwards to my wrists, etc. I always bent my toes under my feet as well - it came naturally. I thought I was just fit, little did I know!! My ankles were always twisting. Apparently hypermobility is more common in tall, slim people (well I was very slim!!)
I now feel sorry for my son who is also hypermobile and is getting all sorts of problems too.

Hypermobility can - and I do stress "can" - be one of the symptoms of Marfan syndrome, a condition which can lead to people being taller than expected. There are other issues too, which need to be checked by a GP. If you have not been checked for Marfan syndrome, you should visit your GP and DEMAND referral.
