searching for a book

I'm looking for a book I read long ago, scifi, about a warming planet and one man that was picked to be the person that everyone would listen to about how to save the planet. I remember people had to move from some areas of the country because it became unlivable and I remember people had many many lush plants inside their homes to purify the air they breathed. Any ideas?? thanks so much

don't think so mallem, i just checked it out on amazon and that does not sound like the one i remember. thanks so much for giving me that title though because it looks like one i would like to read

Well I wouldnt want to discourage you frrom reading it, but I am bound to say I thought at the time I it was one of Brian's sillier sallies. I suppose it might be all right to say this now, as I have completely lost touch with him, but I used to be quite friendly with him once in Oxford, and read everything he wrote with great avidity. But Im afraid only occasionally since.
