idea there josaphine i took a few of my mums planters one year and filled them with fresh bedding plants cheaper than a boquet and months of pleasure x

Heard Prince William give a speach yesterday when he touched upon that very thing.

Perhaps we should just appreciate our parents every day and not have to make a special day of it for this reason.

My kids have to endure Fathers Day.

Anyway -sorry to be maudlin zzxxee on your thread -I think it would be lovely to like gbradfield suggested -make a wee picnic up and have a walk to the park and a lovely chat with her -that will give you both precious memories of a lovely day -take some photos and then frame one to remind her of that day x

A couple of bunches of daffodils, a really lovely card with nice words and spend some time with her on the day.Mums like gift of course they do, but they enjoy their offspring just spending time with them.Mother's day doesn't have to cost a lot if you give yourself.

I'll tell you what not to get her - that CD that's being advertised on the box of "Housework Songs" (sexist!!) or the other "perfect Mother's Day Gift" - also advertised on the box - L'Oreal (or is it Garnier?) "Instant Wrinkle Filler" !!
If my dear son got me either of these, I'd be miffed - to put it mildly!! Happy Mother's Day! K xx
