USB VHS grabber

I have recently purchased a USB VHS grabber to transfer ol;d vhs tapes to dvd through my PC. It works well when connected through an AV cable to a dvd player but when connected via the same medium to a vhs palyer. Would anyone have an ida to wht is going wrong?

please give more details about the grabber. Do you mean it doesn't work with a VHS player? What happens exactly when you try to use it and it goes wrong? Your message is a bit garbled.
